NOTES:
Changing Platforms is a two-CD book celebrating 30 years of the Contemporary
Music Network, published by Unknown Public in a limited edition of 5,000.
Changing Platforms offers an overview of CMN's history through a 100-page hard-back book containing essays by David Toop, Richard Steinitz, Dave Smith and Simon Emmerson, an interview with CMN founder Annette Morreau, an overview by editor Chris Heaton, with information and commentary on many of the key musicians and composers whose music has been presented by the CMN since it sprang into life in 1971.
The book also includes a Time Map poster of the music. The recordings on two CDs provide a complementary survey of the outstanding range of works performed on CMN tours over the last three decades.
Philip Glass music is represented there by an extract of Part 2 of Music in Twelve Parts.
