The American Philip Glass is one of the most influential composers of the twentieth century, and although no longer often present in the concerts of the formation he founded in 1968 and bears his name, it can be said that the Philip Glass Ensemble is still, in the words of the musician himself, “the most authentic representation of my music, a unique repertoire to transmit to new generations. The master of minimalism is reflected in the recitals of the Ensemble, directed by keyboardist, composer and producer Michael Riesman. A handful of musicians – pianists, keyboardists and wind instrumentalists – who have brought to fruition some of the most emblematic works of Philip Glass, such as the operas “The Photographer” (1982) and “Beauty and the Beast” (1994) or the four parts of “Music With Changing Parts” (1971).
